GreenGroup has completed the upgrade of its Buzău facility, raising its total PET recycling capacity to 180,000 tonnes per year.

GreenGroup has finalized the modernization works at its PET recycling plant in Buzău, strengthening its position as one of the leading PET recyclers in Central and Eastern Europe.
The upgraded production line features enhanced washing, grinding, and refining technologies that improve process efficiency and ensure higher-quality rPET flakes and granules.

This investment comes in response to the rising demand for recycled PET in food and non-food packaging applications and supports the EU’s mandatory recycled-content targets.
The company states that the modernized facility will allow for more stable supply, improved energy efficiency, and better integration into high-value applications, including bottle-to-bottle loops.
