The European Commission is discussing a new industrial support plan for compounders, aiming to stabilize the polymer supply chain and boost competitiveness amid rising energy and raw material costs.

Brussels is drafting a new support mechanism for the compounding industry, one of the most strategic links in the European plastics value chain.
The initiative, under consultation with PlasticsEurope and national industry associations, includes tax incentives for circular polymers, financial aid for energy-intensive plants,
and harmonized standards for recycled content certification.

The plan is expected to be officially announced in early 2026 and could reshape the competitive landscape for European recyclers and compounders.
