Recycled polymer prices decline for the third consecutive month in Europe
2025.10.19 - 01:06
European prices for standard recycled materials (R-PET, R-HDPE, R-PP) continued to fall in October 2025, marking the third consecutive month of decreases as industrial demand remains weak.
According to Plasteurope.com (PIE), recycled plastic prices in Europe have registered another monthly decline, extending a downward trend that began in August 2025. Demand from converters and packaging manufacturers remains subdued, especially in the food, construction, and consumer-goods sectors. The price gap between recycled and virgin polymers continues to narrow, putting pressure on recyclers’ margins. However, analysts note that this correction could stimulate local demand for recycled raw materials in Central and Eastern Europe, where producers are seeking competitive feedstock for 2026.
